The Olympic Omission: The Story of Tidye A. Pickett

In 1932 in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles California, Olympic Star Tidye A. Pickett was unfairly removed from the Women’s Relay Team by a teammate who did not qualify.

The relay went on to win the Olympic Gold Medal. In 2028, the Olympics will return to Los Angeles and there is a push to “Right An Olympic Wrong” by presenting the Olympic Gold Medal to Tidye A. Pickett (Phillips) posthumously.

We are calling on all track and field athletes, women of color, and the decent citizens of the world to get behind this amazing initiative.

US Army Vet campaigns for Tidye A. Pickett to receive a posthumous Olympic Gold in LA 2028. Unfairly removed in ’32 Games, it’s time to honor her legacy. #Olympics2028 #JusticeForPickett”
