The lives of two homeless Depression Era brothers change forever when the oldest promises his dying father he’ll take care of his little brother, and he fails. From then on the compulsion to find his lost brother permeates his existence to the detriment of his marriage and his relationship with his own son. After years of searching in New York, the discovery of the Orphan Trains opens up the possibility that his little brother isn’t in the city at all, and changes the course of his search from city-wide to country-wide. Fifty years would pass before the oldest brother finds resolution allowing him to finally let go of his obsession.
