Edward feels trapped, limited in his life and stifled by his own internal hesitation. The endless cycle of work, rest and occasional play with no direction leaves him emotionless, just ambling through life one day at a time.
Sometimes change can take years, but not for Edward. Repressed desires are released in a series of situations where he would normally walk away after deciding that the best path is that of least resistance.
Edward’s metamorphosis comes at a high price, the life he knows will have to change as he adapts to his own thoughts and feelings, allowing passion and anger to take charge and hope that his intelligence and cunning can cover his tracks as he discovers his true path in life.
The Gardener is an intense crime-thriller set in unnamed locations in the present day. It’s bleak and vicious yet not without humour.
