A barren plot of ground is messing with Cal Hart’s head. Children can’t really disappear, but one did after falling in ‘the place where nothing grows.’ While the local police dismiss the tale as an urban legend, a raincoated man burying toys in the vicinity of where the child fell complicates things. Especially when he warns that Cal’s children could be next. Cal digs to unbury the truth as if his life depends on it, and the problem is—it does.
