This was an experiment I set in motion when I was 22 years old. He was studying engineering and was in his last year. As every student, he also faced the same questions about the Past, present and future. He was about to step into the world of a profession where everyone becomes your teacher and everything becomes your course work. It is a very critical stage where all the options are open and you meet life teachers giving you, life lessons. It was an exciting time in his life filled with hopes, dreams, fear and excitement.
He started to make himself ready to meet life as an adult. And then suddenly, he was struck by a thought and inspiration of pulling out his notebook and start writing what he thought life is and figure out a smart way to prepare himself by first understanding the baseline of who he was and who he wanted to become.
He was at that time an average student, no confirmed job and no clue on what is the journey ahead going to be like. Lot of questions which were unanswered and lot of unknowns. But there was a feeling in him, which is very difficult to explain, that he is going to be ok. Now as I write this, I am 33 years old and yes, I am OK. The feeling never left me and I kept following it. Now the interesting part is that when I recently stumbled on my old notes, I had no memory of what me as a 22-year-old had scribbled in them. To my surprise as innocent and afraid he was back then, I was impressed with the wisdom he carried.
And as gift to him I decided to make it into a book where his words might inspire someone to go back to their younger self and appreciate their efforts. Because, frankly the present you, are a result only and only because of the actions taken by the younger you.
