I’d been his punching bag for too long. Being abused and isolated was my norm. I wouldn’t have this life for my daughter. She deserved better. I deserved better.
That’s when we ran. Ran for our lives. Ran to find happy and a new normal. We didn’t have much but we had each other, and I thought that was everything we would ever need.
What I didn’t expect was to find him. But it didn’t matter. Because I wasn’t worthy.
